Referrals - How are they handled

Referral is only one of the core services of the Association. The H.C.C.P.A. was created to provide information, training resources and support services to caregivers. However, we do offer an informal referral service.

Through monthly ads in Burlington Post and Community contact, calls are received by our Referral Coordinator (Shirley Jack), who also runs a busy home daycare. Please call and leave a message during daytime hours and our Referral Coordinator will return your call as soon as possible. Should you wish to email us, please provide us with as much information as possible. Location you wish for the providers, location of your job, name of schools if applicable.

Parents Role: When a Parent calls the Association, the Referral Coordinator will link Parents up with Caregivers in the area.

The H.C.C.P.A does not screen, supervise or check Caregivers in any way. It is the responsibility of Parents to visit potential Caregivers homes, check references and access the quality of care offered.

Caregivers Role: If you do not wish to receive referral, advise the Referral Coordinator so she can made note of this. The H.C.C.P.A. is only one of the many ways you can advertise your home daycare.
